Explore Kaumana Caves Park, Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii
Kaumana Caves is located near Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. This 2½-mile-long lava tube is lush with plant life.
There are restrooms and a covered picnic table at the cave, and parking across the street. The caves are free and make sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight (or two). It's pitch black in the cave. It could be real interesting if you lose your light.
