This region of shadowy slot canyons, mind-bending geological formations, and expansive views of Lake Mead is jointly administered by the National Park Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Solitude and silence are common throughout the 3,521 acres of narrow canyons and gravelly washes found inside Lake Mead NRA. Encompassed by this wilderness area are some of the most colorful and interesting geological formations. Watch for bighorn sheep, the banded Gila monster and the desert tortoise. Activities include hiking, horseback riding, camping, canyoneering and hunting (Seasonal; License Required).

Access:
Hidden Valley may be accessed by driving the Bitter Springs Backcountry Byway approximately three miles east on the Valley of Fire Highway from Interstate 15. About four miles south of the Valley of Fire Highway on this rough dirt road, turn right at the sign for Color Rock Quarry. About three miles further lies the trailhead for Hidden Valley. Four-wheel drive and high clearance vehicles are recommended, as road conditions are rough and variable.
The Bowl of Fire and Anniversary Narrows are accessible from the paved Northshore Road. Callville Wash Road/Road 94 turns north off Northshore Road at mile marker 16. Four-wheel drive is recommended. Road 94A turns left off of Callville Wash Road, leading to Anniversary Narrows. From Callville Wash Road/Road 94, each of three main washes that intersect with the Northshore Road lead to the Bowl of Fire.
TIPS:
No camping within sight of trails, or 0.5 miles from NPS-designated roads.
No camping within 300 feet of water sources.
Disposing of debris and garbage prohibited.
Maximum group size: 12 members.
Maximum length of stay: 14 days.
Short-cutting switchbacks prohibited.
Stock use restriction: Stock cannot be restrained within 200 feet of water.
Campfires are allowed, except during regional fire restrictions, with use of a fire pan or blanket. Visitors encouraged to only use camp stoves.
Target shooting prohibited on NPS lands and within 0.5 miles of BLM trailheads.
Collection of natural resources, including wildlife (with the exception of a valid hunting license or tag), plants, rocks, or fossils is prohibited in the Bowl of Fire.
Recreational riding and pack stock animals limited to washes and the Gale Hills Equestrian Trail. Riding on hiking trails is not permitted. Cross-country use of recreational riding or pack stock is not permitted, except for members of a hunting party in possession of a valid hunting license and tag, and in pursuit of big game during hunting season. Feeding of recreational riding or pack stock animals is limited to packed-in and certified weed-free feed; pellets are encouraged.
