Explore Smuggler’s Cave (Rum Runner’s Cave), Pappy’s Point, Sunset Cliffs, California
Smuggler’s Cave or Rum Runner’s Cave is locate at Pappy’s Point on Sunset Cliffs. There are two large entrances connected by an elevated narrow passageway through the rock. A concrete stairways provide access to the passageway, which several off-shoots and one longer passageway at sea level. There are a couple of places where you could easily fall into the water-filled passageway, so be very careful and bring peoper lighting.

The best time to access the caves is when the tides are very low (0 to negative low tide – check tide tables here).
