Explore Þakgil, Iceland
Þakgil is a canyon in Iceland north of the town Vik. It's located near Katla volcano and on the edge of the Myrdalsjokull glacier. The area has many beautiful hiking trails.
From Vik take Hwy 1 east until reaching road 224 (exit for Hotel Katla). It's a 14 km rough road is the campsite of Þakgil.
