Lockheed TV-2 Seastar No 136834, call sign Cherry Coke 185, crashed near Agua Cailente in Anza-Borrego State Park after it suffered from some type of engine failure. It's a US Navy TV-2 that took off from North Island NAS on September 22, 1958. Both pilots, Lt. A. H. Gonzalez and student Lt. H. C. Quitmeyer were able to eject with only minor injuries. The aircraft was assigned to VF-121 at North Island NAS.
It is a day hike from the camp ground, head up moonlight canyon trail and it is up a drainage before you drop down into Inner Pasture. It's a pretty steep and rocky climb.
