Fish Lower Hadlock Pond, Maine

Lower Hadlock is a scenic water with Norumbega Mountain rising up from the western shore. Access is easily gained over a road off Route 3 (198) several miles north of Northeast Harbor. An adequate boat launching site is available for canoes/small boats. This pond is the water supply for Northeast Harbor, and swimming is not permitted. Stocked brown trout generally provide a fair fishery for 14-16 age III fish. This stocking is augmented with catchable size brook trout to provide more action for anglers in the winter and spring. Years ago, the pond yielded some good catches of attractively sized white perch, but this fishery has declined. Neither the numbers nor size of white perch is presently noteworthy. The outlet provides a small seasonal fishery for brook trout. There is a daily bag limit of 2 trout with a minimum length of 12 inches. Only one may exceed 14 inches. Most lakes in the park are public water supplies. Pets and people may not swim in them.
