This is a must-see for those who love books, history, and architecture. The Library of Congress, which includes the nearby Madison and John Adams buildings, was started from Thomas Jefferson’s books and has grown to include over 100 million items (books, maps, historical documents, and more.) It is free to visit and there’s no reservation needed to take a Jefferson Building tour. Just check with the orientation desk for more information.
