Golf Bethpage State Park, Farmingdale, New York

Located on Long Island, approximately 55 kilometers from mid-town Manhattan is located New York’s Bethpage State Park and its 5 public golf courses, the most famous of which is the Bethpage Black course that played host to the U.S. Open Championship in 2002 and 2009 and is currently home to the PGA Tour’s Barclays Open. Renowned golf course architect, A.W. Tillinghast, designed and managed the construction of 3 of the world class courses (The Red, Blue and Black) as well as the original Lennox Hills Country Club course, now known as the Green. The 5th course in the lineup was designed in the late 1950’s by Alfred Tull and is likewise, keeping with the color scheme, referred to as the Yellow. Each of the courses provides a variety of tee placements and play to lengths that vary from 5839 yards from the Forward tees on the Yellow to 7366 yards from the Championship tees on the Black. The complex provides every convenience possible for golfers including lessons, practice facilities, club rentals, clinics, lockers, showers and restaurants. Motorized golf carts are available for rent on all the courses except for the Black which is designated as a “walking only” track. A pool of well-trained caddies had been developed for golfers that would like to be accompanied during their rounds.
