View Original Description
Experience one of Golf Digest’s “America’s 50 Toughest Courses.” At 214 feet below sea level, we can confidently guarantee you will play your lowest round ever!
Furnace Creek Golf Course offers great California desert resort golf, a unique golf vacation and an ideal winter getaway. At 214 feet below sea level, this 18-hole, par 70 course is also the world’s lowest elevation golf course. Palm and tamarisk trees frame the fairways and majestic mountains are visible from all areas of the course.
During a 1997 redesign, noted course architect, Perry Dye added subtle mounding and re-contoured greens to the already fun layout. Water comes into play on nine holes and four sets of tees provide an enjoyable challenge for players of all skill levels. Furnace Creek Golf Course has achieved designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS), the educational division of Audubon International. Furnace Creek Golf Course was the 42nd course in California and the 630th in the world to receive the honor.
