Sandpiper Golf Club is a rolling, seaside links golf course located in Goleta, just outside Santa Barbara, California. The course was designed by William F. Bell and first opened for play in 1972. The challenging course has been the site of a number of prestigious competitions including PGA Tour Tournament Players Series, the LPGA tour’s Santa Barbara Open and the final stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School. The course stretches to more than 7,000 yards from the championship tees, all the while affording spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding landscape. William F. Bell and his father, William P. Bell were prolific golf course architects having their hands in the design of numerous memorable layouts, primarily in the western United States, many with ocean orientation. Sandpiper is consistently included on listings of the top golf courses that are open to play in the United States.
