Long thought of as one of the toughest courses in the world, Spyglass Hill Golf Course at the world famous Pebble Beach Resort is a significant test of golfing skill set among the towering coastal pines of the Monterey Peninsula. The course takes its name from the pages of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, Treasure Island. With nicknames like "Black Dog" and "Billy Bones" Hole these monikers are hints for the first time visitors. Spyglass Hill Golf Course is rated one of the toughest courses in the world from the Championship tees, boasting a course rating of 75.5 and a slope rating of 147.
