Haleo Luau, Keauhou Bay, Big Island
View Original Description
The story of Haleo, the “Voice of Life”, celebrates the history of the ahupuaa (land division) called Keauhou, and those who came from this area on the Big Island of Hawaii. From the birth of Kamehameha III to surfing stories of Heeia Bay, dancers and musicians take guests on a journey through a very special time in Hawaii's history. This colorful and entertaining trip through Hawaiian history shares stories of Polynesian cousins and the gifts they brought to Hawaii through language, culture, music and dance. Guests have the opportunity to meet the performers before the show, to "talk story" and learn. Live dinner music serenades guests as they enjoy a delicious traditional Luau feast. As the sun sets on the ocean's horizon – Haleo begins.
A unique Hawaiian cultural and dining experience, the Haleo Lau dinner and show is held on the Hawaii Lawn Monday evenings at Sheraton Kona Resort at Keauhou Bay.
