Hike
4-Lake Hike, Switzerland
View Original Description
The "4-Lake Hike" in the Jochpass region in Switzerland is one of the most beautiful hikes in Central Switzerland. The hike begins in the village of Engelberg (1,050 meters, 3,413 feet), crossing over two moderate mountain passes, and ends down to Stockalp (1,075 m., 3,494 feet).
The starting point of the hike is the cablecar station of Melchsee-Frutt. First you walk to Melchsee - the sparkling natural reservoir. Then it's on to turquois colored Lake Tannen where you can take a lunch break.
After going up and over Tannalp, and then it's back down again to the beautiful Engstlensee - which is full of fish you will head to the fourth lake - Trübsee - on the other side of the mountain.
