Hike Black Dragon Canyon, San Rafael Swell, Utah

Black Dragon Canyon is a deep canyon decorated with pictographs. It is located in a remote area in the San Rafael Swell in Utah, north of Hanksville near the junction of Highway 24 and I-70. There is a 3 mile trail (jeep road) through the canyon. The south fork heads towards Interstate 70. The north fork offers more interesting canyon walls. To get there take I-70 just west of mile marker 147 and turn north through a gate (close it behind you) onto a dirt road. Go for about a mile and turn left.
