Hike East Fork Quinault River Trail to Enchanted Valley, Olympic National Park, Washington

East Fork Quinault River Trail to Enchanted Valley is a 30.8 mile out and back trail near Graves Creek Ranger Station and Graves Creek Campground. It's 2.5 miles to Pony Bridge and 6.5 miles to O'Neil Creek. Beyond Enchanted Valley are O'Neil Pass Juntion (16.7 miles), Anderson Pass (18.4 miles) and Dosewallips Trailhead (34.3 miles). The emergency shelter at Enchanted Valley is closed due to the possibility of the river taking the structure. Bears!Bears are common in this area. Always secure all food, garbage and scented items in bear canisters 24 hours a day.Bear canisters are REQUIRED to camp at Enchanted Valleyand may be available at the South Shore Quinault Ranger Station during business hours. Contact the WIC for information about trailhead shuttles. (360) 565-3100. Permits/Reservations: Obtain permits at the WIC in Port Angeles or at the South Shore Lake Quinault Ranger Station located next to Lake Quinault Lodge. No reservations necessary. Food Storage Method: Bear canisters and bear wires. Bear wires are located at O'Neil Creek and Pyrites Creek.All food, garbage, scented items, and beverages other than water must be stored in bear canisters at Enchanted Valley.Bear canisters are recommended in other areas without wires. Campsites: Pony Bridge, O'Neil Creek, Pyrites Creek, and Enchanted Valley Toilet Facilities: Pit toilets are available at O'Neil Creek and Enchanted Valley. In other areas, bury waste 6-8" deep and 200 feet from water sources and campsites. Please pack out toilet paper. Water Source: East Fork Quinault River and tributary streams. Always boil, filter, or chemically treat your drinking water to prevent Giardia. Stock: Allowed. See Stock Use to check regulations.
