Hike
Fairview Creek Trail, Oregon
View Original Description
This historic gold miners trail begins across the road from Mineral Camp Campground. Follow the trail north through large second growth Douglas fir to the Fairview Creek trail bridge. Once across Fairview Creek, you'll be greeted by towering old growth trees, steep rock walls, footbridges, and a cascading stream. During higher flows in winter and spring, several creeks cut across the trail, so bring shoes that can get wet. Expect to encounter wildlife as you venture down the trail.
Mineral Camp is a small campground situated along Sharps Creek, surrounded stand of Douglas fir. It's at the base of the historic Hardscrabble Grade. Mineral Camp was once a stopover place for miners before starting up the long steep grade to the Bohemia Mining District.
