Hike Little Wild Horse & Bell Slot Canyons, Utah

Hiking the Little Wild Horse & Bell Canyons 8-mile loop is the most popular hike in the San Rafael Swell since the they are some of the best slot canyons in the area. They are easily explored and have narrow passages. The canyons can be hiked by themselves for a short distance or connected together to provide an easy half day loop hike. The canyons are 5 miles west from the popular Goblin Valley State Park. Take UT 24 at milepost 137 and heads due west on Temple Mountain Road. WARNING: Slot canyons are particularly dangerous due to the risk of flash floods. Storms far away can send walls of water down the narrow canyons and hikers have been killed in such events. In many slot canyons, it can be miles before a safe exit or rescue is possible. Hikers should check conditions carefully and not rely on seeing the sky to judge the weather. If there is even a slight chance of rain, do not enter slot canyons.
