Hike Maka’ula ‘O’oma Tract (Honua’ula Forest Reserve), Big Island, Hawaii
Honua’ula Forest Reserve cool cloud forest located on the hot Kona coast. Maka’ula ‘O’oma Tract is the main trail in the reserve.
The trail is accessed from the end of Makahi Street, which is near the top of Kaloko Drive (mauka of Mamalahoa Highway/Hawaii Belt Road/Hwy 190). Park on the side of the road and be respectful of neighboring properties.
