Hike Moorten's Mill Trail (Cottonwood Canyon), Joshua Tree National Park, California
Moorten's Mill Trail is a 1.2 mile out and back trail near Cottonwood Spring in Joshua Tree National Park. The mill is located on the western slopes of Cottonwood Canyon. In the 1930s, Chester Moorten erected a five-stamp mill on the western side of Cottonwood Canyon. There is not much left besides the old foundation. But also look for other things in the canyon including the rusting remains of an old car.
