Hike Panorama Loop Trail, Joshua Tree National Park, California

Panorama Loop Trail is located off the Black Rock Canyon Trail in Joshua Tree National Park, California. Hike up a sandy wash, then follow the ridgeline of the Little San Bernardino Mountains. Enjoy scenic views, dense Joshua tree forest, and pinyon-juniper woodland. Leave from the Black Rock Campground backcountry registration board and hike south on Black Rock Canyon Trail. The first turn will take you up the steepest part of the loop. Alternately, begin at site #30 and follow the trail markers to Black Rock Canyon Trail. Turn right into the wash, heading south. Backcountry camping is permitted in areas that are: 1 mile (1.6 km) from roads, 500 feet from trails and water sources, not day-use only areas. Before setting out into the backcountry, you must first register at one of the backcountry boards.
