The Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) hike in the Amalfi Coast links the tiny hilltop town of Agerola with Nocelle. It is one of the most spectacular path in all Europe with incredible views overlooking the coast line, Capri Island and a little island just off Positano called Li Galli. The path connect all the villages of the Amalfi Coast, from Bomerano located in Agerola above Amalfi all the way to Positano.
The Path of the Gods usally begins in Bomerano. Look for the road signs which lead to the trailhead. The trail ends in Nocelle, the upper part of Positano. You can reach the center of Positano by taking the 1,500 steps about 500 down on foot. Otherwise, there is a bus route.
You could also start the path from Praiano or via the monastery of “Santo Domenico”, you will pass through a monastery located just below The Path of the Gods or via Marina di Praia in Praiano, this is a nice walk from near a beach that will take you all the way to Colle Serra on the path. If you go from Bomerano to Nocelle, you can get to Positano centre or via Montepertuso or by taking the stairs to an area just outside the centre of Positano called Arienzo.
If you walk from Nocelle to Bomerano depending where you are staying you need to take the Sita Bus to Amalfi and then to Bomerano. You cold start the Path of the Gods hike also from any area suggested above, please note that all the people in the group need to agree with the departing point.
The path is not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo.
