The 2.4 miles (4 km) lollipop loop Slickrock Foot Trail is located in the Needles district in Canyonlands National Park. The hike is around the northern end of the mesa that separates Big Spring Canyon from Little Spring Canyon.
Slickrock, a general term for any bare rock surface, dominates much of the landscape in Canyonlands. For millions of years, natural forces have interacted to create the sweeping vistas and landmarks visible along this trail.
This trail features expansive 360-degree views into Big Spring Canyon and Little Spring Canyon, with the La Sal Mountains and Abajo Mountains in the background. Geology guide available at trailhead.
The trailhead is loctaed near the end of Route 211 in the Needles District.
