Fairy Falls, 200 feet (61 m) high, is one of Yellowstone's most spectacular waterfalls.
Short route—park 1 mile (1.5 km) south of Midway Geyser Basin, cross the steel bridge and walk 1.1 mile (1.8 km) to the trailhead. Round trip 5 miles (8.4 km) for short route.
Long route—park at the end of Fountain Flat Drive and walk 1.75 mi (2.8 km) to the trailhead. From the trailhead, walk 1.6 miles (2.6 km) through a young lodgepole pine forest to the falls. You can continue 0.6 miles (0.97 km) to Spray and Imperial geysers. This adds 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the hike. Round trip 8 miles (11.2 km) for long route.
Trail opens in late May. Parking in this area is very limited.
