Hike to Horseshoe Bend Petroglyphs, Colorado River, Arizona

The trail starts at a sandy beach at Colorado River mile nine (north of Lee's Ferry) at the bottom of scenic Horseshoe Bend in Glen Canyon. The trailhead is only accessible via boat on the Colorado River. There are two pit toilets on the north side of the trail just above the beach. The first way to get to the trailhead is going upstream in a shallow-draft boat from the Lee's Ferry boat launch site. The second option is to do a smoothwater float from Page, Arizona. There are guided float trips that stop at the petroglyphs through Glen Canyon down to Lee's Ferry. All of Glen Canyon is managed by the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which costs to enter.
