Stay at North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin, Washington
Accessible only by boat, plane or hiking trails, this laid-back lodge on the shores of Lake Chelan within North Cascades National Park is a minute's walk from the boat landing. Wood-paneled, TV-free rooms (seasonal) have coffeemakers and ceiling fans (no air-conditioning); some offer lake views and/or private patios. Cabins add private entrances and kitchens. Suites feature living space, and a lake house with a hot tub and a fireplace sleeps up to 12 guests. Kids age 5 and under stay at no cost in a parent's room.There's a seasonal restaurant and grocery store, plus a TV and game room. Other amenities include boat rentals and bus tours (fee).
