Hike to Opus Hut, Ophir, Colorado
To reach the Opus Hut, located deep in the range, you’ll drive a dirt road east of Ophir Pass, between the old mining towns of Silverton and Ophir, and hike just a quarter of a mile to reach the hut. Fresh cooked mules included.
In the summer months, one can drive to within 1/4 mile of the hut. In the winter (November – April) the road closes and it’s a 3.5 mile hike.
