Hike
Parsons Landing to Starlight Beach, Catalina, California
View Original Description
Beyond the isthmus lies the most remote section of Catalina Island, with the most beautiful beach-front camping at Parson's Landing. You also will reach the official terminus of the Trans-Catalina Trail at the black sands of Starlight Beach. Starlight Beach is a small cove with a beach about three-quarters of a mile from the West End on the front side of the island. There is an offshore rock, Johnson's Rock, that lies about a quarter of a mile from Starlight Cove.
Either hike via Old West End Road (9.2 miles out and back) or come back via Silver Peak Trail (10.4 loop).
The descent down to Starlight Beach is steep and much better with trekking poles.
