Hike
Wawona Swinging Bridge Trail, Yosemite National Park, California
View Original Description
This 1.5 mile out-and-back hike will take you to a swinging wooden bridge with some great pools to swim in and lay in the afternoon sun. There is also a granite "slide" upriver of the bridge but water your swimsuit, as the tough granite has been known to rip holes in some suits. You will find it hard not to spend all day here, so pack a lunch and have a picnic on the granite slabs in between dips in the river. You can make the hike into a loop by walking back on the opposite side of the river; this road will eventually lead you to the Wawona Lodge.
