Jump into Sua Ocean Trench, Lotofaga, Samoa

To Sua Ocean Trench is an ideallic natural swimming pool in a 30 meter (90 feet) hole located in Lotofaga village in Somoa. Water flows into the deep hole through a lava tube tunnel. The area also has amazing views and beautiful gardens. To Sua is otherwise translated as 'big hole' that is converted into a large swimming area. A ladder is installed on site for visitors access to and from the hole. This site is surrounded with beautiful colorful gardens. There are other site located in the same area, including blowholes, and an incredible small beach on the western side called Fagaoneone meaning white sand. The tomb of Laulu Fetauimalemau Mata'afa (1928 - 2007), wife of Samoa's first Prime Minister and the mother of cabinet minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa, the paramount chief of Lotofaga, is situated close to the sua. Getting the hole can be hard to find since there is only a faded sign on the main road that is only visibale when heading east. There is a fee to enter the site. Adults: $15 | Children(7-15): $6.00 | Under 7: Free. Hours are Monday-Sunday 7:00am–6:00pm
