Chicken Farmer Rock, Newbury, New Hampshire
View Original Description
The "I still love you Chicken Farmer" rock Newbury, New Hampshire is along Route 103. This roadside graffiti reads: “Chicken Farmer, I still love you.”
According to local legend the original message: “Chicken Farmer, I love you.” was written on the rock sometime in the late 1980s (or 1070s) by a sky teenage boy for a young schoolgirl wo loved on a small chicken farm across the street from the rock. It stayed that way for a long time then one night in the sign was repainted to the current message by an unknown hand.
In 2011, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation responded to some horrible person’s complaint about the art and painted over it. The rock’s unnamed custodians, though, didn’t take long to paint it back.
