Advanced courses and higher level certification await those SCUBA divers that want to develop their skills in order to experience more challenging diving conditions. Prerequisites for certification include general good health and the ability to swim and tread water at a reasonable level. The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) provides certification at more than 6000 locations around the world, including Resorts and Dive Centers and is the largest provider of training for recreational SCUBA divers. The PSAI (Professional Scuba Association International) also offers certification programs along with many other providers around the world.
