Stay at
North Face Lodge, Denali National Park, Alaska
View Original Description
North Face Lodge located at almost at the end of the Denali Park road, offers an amazing experience in the middle of the Denali wilderness. The trip to the Lodge starts with a 7-hour bus ride from the Denali Rail Road station. The ride is only 90-miles but there are frequent rest and wildlife-viewing stops, as well as a stop for a delicious picnic dinner. The picnic dinner is your introduction to the amazing North Face Lodge food: fresh, wholesome, plentiful, and utterly delicious.
Once you arrive at the lodge, you probably have already seen moose, caribou, and maybe grizzly bears. The main lodge is beautiful and rustic. Buildings are arranged to facilitate views of Denali (the mountain). The guestrooms are motel-basic but quite comfortable. There are no TVs here and no Internet. There is no bar (you are welcome to bring your own alcohol). Each day you are offered three flavors of excursion: a very challenging hike, a moderately challenging hike, or a "naturalist's foray" that is really spending most of the time in a van with some short walks. These guided excursions are led by incredibly knowledgeable staff and provide a unique opportunity to experience the Denali wilderness.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included in your stay.
