Off-road Cohenour Loop Road, Lake Mead, Arizona

Cohenour Road Loop is an off-road adventure that takes you past abandoned mines, around a volcanic peak and through some desert canyons. You might even see some wild horses or burros, and can definitely expect to see some petroglyphs. Although this trail is fairly easy, sand makes 4WD a must. Access: Cohenour Loop Road is a 4WD access road and starts along Bonelli Landing Road. Bonelli Landing Road is accessed from Temple Bar Road (13.4 miles from Hwy 93) Pope Mine Campsite: take Cohenour Loop Rd west for 3.1 miles, keep left at the split and go another 6 miles. Turn left onto Pope Mine Road and drive 2 miles to the end of the road (No RVs, tent camping only) Gilbert Canyon Campsite: Take Cohenour Loop Road for 6.2 miles and take a right at the fork to Gilbert Canyon Road. Continue for 2 miles to the end of the road. TIPS: 4WD only Fee to enter Lake Mead NRA
