Off-road & Hike Carlysle Mine, 29 Palms, California

Carlysle Mine is located 7 miles northwest of New Dale. It consisted of two tunnels; the upper following 1,200 feet along the vein and the lower 1,500 feet long with crosscuts, drifts and saises. A 2,680 foot long aerial tram connecting the mine to the mill. A puming plant was built on the southwest shore of Sale Dry Lake with a 3" pipeline to the mill. It was last operated in 1941.
