Off-road Montezuma Canyon Road, Utah

Montezuma Creek is a long, side tributary of the San Juan River in southeastern Utah. The canyon has red and white rocks that is up to 1,200 feet deep towards its upper (north) end. The main attractions are the ancient sites - cliff dwellings, granaries and rock art, with several dozen locations all along the main drainage, and more in its tributaries. The winding road through the canyon is 43 miles long, with most of the ruins and rock art within an 11 mile section between the tributaries of Cave Canyon and Devil Canyon. Montezuma Canyon Road (County Road B146) about seven miles north of the Perkins Road (County Road B206).
