Laurel Lakes is a secluded, crystal-clear mountain lakes near 10,000 feet that has brown and golden trout. It is located at the end of a 4WD road south of Mammoth Lakes, California.
Turn off Hwy 395 at Sherwin Creek Road heading southwest. The turn left on Laurel Lakes Road for 4.5 miles of rocky road that snakes and zigzags up the side of a valley before making the steep descent to the lakes.
Trail is open to mountain bikers, hikers, ATVs and dirt bikes. Snow may block upper portion of trail well into July.
