These pockets were once used by early Indians as a means of survival, and later by ranchers to water their sheep and cattle. The water pocket storage tank (approx. 150 yds. to the south) was developed in the 1920's by the James Bundy Family. This cabin was built by Atwood & Ben Bundy. Pa's Pocket is a good example of how water was utilized in this hot and arid land, and this cabin stands as a historic landmark to the memories and lives of the families and guests who settled and lived in this remote part of the Arizona Strip! The Bar 10 Ranch (Tony Heaton Family) currently owns this cabin, and continues the history and heritage by actively utilizing these pockets and improvements in their cattle operations. Thank you for helping to protect this site and to preserve this heritage. Bar 10 Ranch. Eagle Scout Project. Colby Heaton. 2013."
