Off-road to Sand Island Beaches (8.0 Road), Lake Mead, Nevada
Off-road this trail for a day of fun in the water! Kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking and camping await you at Sand Island Beaches. Just be sure to bring food, drinking water, shade and swimwear.
Sand Island Beaches are located on the Nevada side of Lake Mead and can be reached by boat or by driving 8.0 Mile Road via Northshore Road. The trail is an easy drive through scenic desert landscape, and features beautiful views of the Lake as you approach the beach.
TIPS:
2WD drive okay under most conditions
4x4 recommended
Road Details:
Dirt road
Less than 3” of water crossing depth
Some ruts
Slight grades up to 10 degrees
2WD okay under most conditions
4WD needed for rain or snow
Road is 1.5 to 2 vehicles wide
