Raft or Kayak Noce River, Italy

In the Brenta Dolomite Mountains of Northern Italy those seeking adventure will find the Noce River in the wild and remote Val di Sole (Sun Valley). Some of the most exciting white water rafting in Europe is available on this cascading river fed by melting glacial ice. Primarily Class III and IV rapids provide for a rafting experience at a controlled pace but give way to some adrenaline pumping runs of Class V caliber as the river tumbles from the riverside villages of Ossana to Caldes. This stretch of the river is the site of the annual European Rafting Championships and the 1993 World Rafting Championship events. White water rafting enthusiasts will find outfitters operating primarily from the Italian province of Trentino that are experts at guiding rafts filled with the most accomplished rafters to novices through the challenging waters of the Noce River. The scenery along the rugged course is breathtaking with vertical walls, sheer cliffs, deep valleys, glaciers and pinnacles seemingly around every turn in the river. The area is a popular tourist destination in Europe and visitors will find excellent access to accommodations and support services as well as alternative adventures in the surrounding area. If rafting on a wild river in the northern part of Italy among the towering Dolomites in the Italian Alps is a dream of yours then add a trip to the Val di Sole to attack the Noce River to your list.
