Relax at Poʻipū Beach Park, Kauai, Hawaii

Poʻipū Beach Park was once named Poipu Beach America's Best Beach by the "Travel Channel". It was also ranked as the best beach in America by Florida International University professor Stephen Leatherman, "Dr Beach" in 2001. The beach is a great place to watch a sunset. The beach is located in the community of Poʻipū on the southern coast of Kauaʻi island in Hawaii. The beach is a park has lifeguards provided by county of Kauaʻi. There are swimming and snorkeling areas, and a surf break over a reef for experienced surfers only. It can get crowded on weekends. The endangered native Hawaiian Monk seal and threatened Green sea turtle are frequent visitors. From November through May, the endangered Humpback whale appears. Ancient Hawaiians fished and played here and harvested salt in dug-out evaporating pans nearby.
