Relax on Boquerón Beach, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico

Boquerón is a beach village located in the town of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The village is one of the main tourist attractions in the southwestern part of the island. Boquerón beach (balneario de Boquerón) is athree-mile beach with sand sloping gently to the calm waters, making it a great beach to sun, swim and relax. The beach has been rated as one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico along with Luquillo Beach. The beach was awarded blue flag beach status by the Foundation for Environmental Education. NOTE: In recent years the beach has gone downhill. Bathrooms that do not work anymore and litter on the beach. Make sure to check with locals or your hotel before going here to see what condition it is in. The beach is near a small area of about 15 restaurants and bars and shops. Just walk to the right end of the beach and over the draw bridge. Other beaches in Boquerón are Buye and El Combate.
