Curl Curl is a suburb of northern Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia located 18 km north-east of the Sydney central business district. The 1.2 km long Curl Curl beach is divided into North and South Curl Curl beaches. Curl Curl is known for some of the best surfing on the Northern Beaches. Good swimming and body boarding conditions in north end. Good surfing in front of and south of the lagoon. Best in north easterly winds.
The north end of Curl Curl at the entrance of Curl Curl Lagoon. An off-leash dog exercise area is behind the dunes at Adam Street Reserve and no dogs are allowed on the beach. Swiming in Curl Curl Lagoon is not recommended.
Curl Curl Beach has two volunteer surf lifesaving clubs, South Curl Curl SLSC established in 1918 and North Curl Curl SLSC established in 1922. Warringah Council employs professional lifeguards to patrol this beach during the summer months. There are saltwater rockpools at each end of the beach.
