Visit Villasimius, Sardinia, Italy

Villasimìus is a town in southern Sardinia, located about 35 km east of Cagliari. Most important beaches of the area are Porto Sa Ruxi, Piscadeddus, Campus, Cala caterina, Cala Burroni, Porto Giunco, Timi Ama, Simius, Punta Molentis, Spiaggia del Riso. Some of the beaches are at about 10km from the town. The best beaches are between Villasimius and Costa Rei. Along the coast it is still possible to see some warning towers once built to defend the island. In 1998 the Capo Carbonara National Marine Park was created. It encompasses all the waters surrounding the headlands in the eastern Gulf of Cagliari, from Villasimius' western border withSolanas, to its northern border with Castiadas. Villasiumus has preserved a little bit of character but is pretty crowded and not one of the most picturesque towns on the island.
