Ride Alaska State Ferry (Bellingham to Juneau), Alaska

For a different way to get to Alaska take the Alaskan State Ferry (Alaska Marine Highway System) between Bellingham, Washington State (just across the border from Vancouver) to Juneau, the Alaskan capital. It runs at the least weekly and takes about 60 hours. The Southeast region includes communities from Bellingham, WA and Prince Rupert, BC, through the Inside Passage, to Yakutat. Most communities in Southeast Alaska receive year-round service with mainline vessels serving larger communities and day boats connecting to smaller communities. During the summer months, the MV Kennicott connects the regions of Southeast and South Central with sailings across the Gulf of Alaska.
