South Rim shuttle buses are Free! No need to drive around in traffic, park your car and ride shuttles around South Rim Village and out to the scenic overlooks. Between March 1st and November 30, Hermit Road Shuttle Bus (Red Route) in Grand Canyon National Park provide transportation between the Village Route Transfer Station and Hermits Rest (7 miles/ 11 km) with stops at 9 canyon overlooks. It's a 80 Minutes Round-trip (without getting off the bus). The Hermits Rest Route provides excellent walking opportunities via the Rim and Greenway trails and cycling opportunities along Hermit Road. Mohave and Pima points are great places to view the sunset. The West Canyon Rim Trail also follows the rim of the canyon for 7.8 miles (12.6 km) along Hermit Road and offers the opportunity for short or long walks between viewpoints on both paved and dirt trails. Points of Interest: Rim Trail Greenway Trail Trailview Overlook Powell Memorial Mohave Point The Abyss Pima Point Hermits Rest Hermit Trail On the Return Trip, buses stop only at Hermits Rest, Pima, Mojave, and Powell Points. Shuttle Bus Etiquette: No eating or open drink containers No pets. Service animals permitted Collapse strollers before entering the shuttle bus. No oversized or jogging strollers. Remove baby-back carriers when seated Shuttle buses can accommodate two or three bicycles, but not tag alongs, baby trailers, or children's bicycles with wheels less than 16 inches (41 cm). Riders must load and unload their bicycles Shuttle buses are equipped with ramps and space to carry passengers in wheelchairs.Please note: wheelchairs larger than 30 inches wide by 48 inches long (76 cm x 122 cm) cannot be accommodated on shuttle buses and most motorized scooters will not fit Shuttle buses only stop at designated bus stops
