Ride up Torrey Pines Park Road, San Diego, California
Most San Diegans know the hilly stretch of N Torrey Pines Rd from Torrey Pines State Beach to Torrey Pines Golf Course. This is a good 1.5 mile climb at a 5% grade.
The Torrey Pines Park Road that winds up the hill to the ocean-side of N Torrey Pines Rd is much more dounting. From the beach entrance it climbs at 8% grade for about .8 mile.
Safety concerns have prompted state parks officials to ban bicyclists from riding down the road.
