Sea Kayak Argyll & Hebrides Islands, Scotland

Off the Scottish coastline is a maze of islands, sea lochs, and inlets that offer world-famous kayaking conditions. Whether you’re looking for a smooth ride practically gliding across the water amidst an idyllic background of highlands, stunning beaches, and wildlife or are in search for something more challenging conditions, it can be found along the coastline of Argyll and Hebrides. There are so many caves, inlets, coves, and beaches to discover even more advanced paddlers would benefit being accompanied by a guide. The abundance of birdlife and seals found in the Hebrides archipelago is breathtaking and kayaking offers an idyllic bird watching experience that can’t be matched in a boat or yacht. There are also plenty of caves and sea lochs that can only be reached kayak. After a peaceful day navigating the bays and inlets kayak over to one of the spotless beaches for a little relaxation. If you’re looking for something a bit more adventurous be sure to check out the Falls of Lora near Oban off the coast of Argyll. The tides offer a challenging and fun kayaking excursion. Since the currents can be strong it’s not the best option for beginners, but more experienced kayakers are in for a great ride. The waters around Argyll attract plenty of activities, such as the annual Oban Sea Kayak a 20km race in early September.
