Lightning is the visual evidence of the fury of Mother Nature that accompanies thunder as part of what is referred to as a “Thunder Storm”. Lightning Storms are able to be observed in many different parts of the world where violent weather patterns appear. Lightning Storms can be beautiful while at the same time dangerous to watch from up close. It’s best to observe close-by lightning from an indoor location away from metal framed windows or doors. If you find yourself outdoors stay away from trees, or other tall objects. Avoid holding anything in your hand that contains metal of any kind. Terrific Lightning Storms occur with regularity in the tropical regions of the earth. There are as many as 2,000 Thunderstorms generating lightning that are taking place at any given time all over the planet. Individual storms are known to generate as many as 40 to 50 flashes each second.
