McDonald's Single Arch Sign
View Original Description
Some McDonald's Locations Only Have a Single Golden Arch. In 1953, 13 years after Richard and Maurice McDonald founded McDonald’s, they tapped architect Stanley Meston to design their first building. In 1962, that the Golden Arches actually became part of the McDonald’s logo. The U.S. trademark on the name “McDonald’s” was approved in 1968. That same year, the Golden Arches as we know them in their overlapping twin form became standard. The original signs can still be found at a few select locations.
Of the more than 38,000 McDonald's locations across the globe, only these 12 locations across 12 states still have the original single arch sign. There is a 13th McDonald's in Winter Haven, Florida and 14th McDonald's in Stuart, Florida that have a different single arch sign.
