Polo in Barbados dates back to as early as 1884 and there are now several fields on the island where you can watch a match. The world class Apes Hill Polo Club, with its full-sized field, is one of the finest of its kind in the West Indies. This is a place to indulge one’s love for all things equestrian: to share in the drama and spectacle of international polo matches against a stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea; to sharpen one’s handicap under the resident coach, or to simply experience gorgeous scenery on horseback from the vantage point of the Club’s riding facilities. All visitors are welcome to Polo Matches scheduled a few times a week throughout the various polo clubs. On match days, there is a full bar in operation along with tea and light food for sale. Please note that polo is dependent on a sunny day so be sure to check the weather. Entry to Apes Hill Polo Club is $20 Bds per adult and $10 Bds per child.
